New York Rangers star Artemi Panarin and Madison Sq. Backyard paid a monetary settlement to a former crew worker who claims Panarin sexually assaulted her, in response to a report from The Athletic. The alleged incident dates again to December 2023, when the Rangers have been at a lodge throughout a street journey.
The lady alleged that, throughout a postgame gathering on the lodge, Panarin took her cellphone and instructed her he would solely return it if she visited his room. In accordance with the lady, when she went to retrieve her cellphone, Panarin pinned her down on the mattress. The lady says she pushed the Rangers ahead off of her and left the room.
Three months after the alleged incident, the feminine worker was underneath investigation for a separate incident involving her allegedly sharing anti-anxiety drugs with a participant who had a worry of flying. It was then that the lady instructed the Rangers concerning the alleged assault by Panarin.
Final August, Panarin and MSG reached a settlement with the lady, whose employment with the crew was terminated. Per The Athletic, the settlement had non-disclosure and no admission of wrongdoing clauses.
When requested for a press release from MSG, a spokesperson mentioned, “The matter has been resolved.”
For the reason that settlement was reached, Panarin went on to guide the Rangers in objectives (37), assists (52) and factors (89) within the 2024-25 season. On Wednesday, Panarin was named crew MVP by members of the native media.
